I saved it as an SVG in Illustrator and then opened it in font forge, however in font forge, rather than seeing a single line per single line in Illustrator, I see the letter as an outline of the line seen in Illustrator i.e. All we ask is that you subscribe to the FontForge announcement list so that we can keep you in the loop and using the latest version of the software. What do I need to do? Am I correct in assuming that the problem stems from having disconnected parts on a glyph? I've done extensive Google searches, but haven't been able to find anything. I made my first font in Illustrator and now am in the process of getting it to work in FontForge so working with the letter A. If you really like FontForge and want to see it continue to improve (and download) or, if you’ve already given as much as this release of FontForge is worth to you, no worries. The best I can do is put them in the same group, which still doesn't solve the problem. Upon realizing this wasn't working, I tried to join the objects together, but was unable to do so. newer versions of Inkscape make the font creation a bit easier than Illustrator as there. I simply turned visible the parts I wanted to make the glyph, and saved the file as a new SVG file. Inkscape and FontForge can be installed on both windows, mac. I feel like the problem is in Illustrator, not FontForge, because the objects are separate in Illustrator. So for example an é would show up simply as e, because the accent mark isn't attached. This is because while FontForge imports the glyph perfectly, it only imports one part of it, leaving all the disconnected parts behind. I suspect this is the cause of the problem. Many of my glyphs are multi-part - that is, they have parts which do not connect.

While I've been able to create the glyphs I want in Illustrator, I'm having trouble importing them into FontForge. Download Release Installer (.exe) Right click, select Run as Administrative User.
